Sand = Powdered Sugar
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
Half Moon Cay is Holland America's private island. Paradise to me: warm, crystal clear, baby blue water, fine, powdered sugar sand, a curve of sand as far as the eye can see. This is my first private island ever. Holland America, my hat is off to you!
The morning we arrived I was off the ship early via a tender with a very short sail time to the Half Moon Cay dock. The dock is cleverly built with it's on "driveway", if you will, into the island. A welcome by staff, a walk past the kid's play section, blue beach chairs and colorful cabanas, to the more isolated spot we chose for our glorious afternoon. With the Eurodam straight ahead, intermittent fluffy white clouds above, a paradise playground, endless blue ocean water on a sandy white bottom, an ocassional fish swimming by, this was one happy girl for-a-day.
A 4-day cruise from Fort Lauderdale aboard the gorgeous Eurodam can't get much better than this. Of course, the ship itself is a whole 'nother wonderful story.
