Meet Susan
WELCOME TO MY DREAM CRUISE
My name is Susan Robinson.
I'm blessed to call the Napa Valley in Northern California my home.
Traveling is part of my makeup and my passion.
- At three years old, I immigrated to the United States from Argentina. Mom and I traveled over the Andes by train from Buenos Aires to Chile. In Chile we sailed to Panama making our first Panama Canal crossing. In Panama we took a Panamerican flight to San Francisco. Mom says this itinerary was my uncle Carl's crazy idea of a “budget” relocation venture. Unless you're after some real adventure, mom doesn’t suggest you try this. She says DEFINITELY FLY all the way.
- When I was six, I took my second cruise through the Panama Canal on the Argentina Maru (a Japanese cargo ship) with my grandparents. We sailed from Los Angeles to Buenos Aires via Rio de Janeiro. I still remember the impression of awe I felt at the statue of Jesus with outstretched arms in the middle of the harbor standing larger than life atop Rio's Pan de Azucar.
- During high school and college, mom worked for United Airlines. Her airline passes afforded us the opportunity to take some amazing family vacations to Hawaii, Argentina and Europe.
- College was for knowledge. But for me, it was a "hand's on" time to discover new places. My college years found me in Wisconsin, Bonn, (then West Germany,) New York City and San Diego, CA. As part of my abroad studies, I visited East Germany (ask me about my experience at Check Point Charlie sometime) Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece. Though I majored in German, I minored in travel, dark beer and schnapps.
- Touring the Holy Land in 1996 was a dream come true for me. We visited Israel (was baptized in the COLD river Jordan,) the country of Jordan (was fascinated by the Nabithean culture and their Petra,) Egypt (where I finally met king Tut) and Greece.
In 2002 I began working as a travel agent. Not only did I interact with amazing people, but I also got to plan their vacations! My heart sang. I had found my calling!
Two years later following my heart, I purchased a Cruise Planners franchise which now allows me to live my passion.
I continue to find fun, excitement and adventure in this captivating world of ours and have no greater joy than sharing it with my my awesome clients, many of which I call "friends."
